In recent decades, social ontology and social epistemology have emerged as immensely fruitful fields of research. Topics such as the ontology of gender and race, epistemic injustice and the ontological and epistemological status of such entities as groups and corporations have sparked interest across various academic communities around the world.
The seminar “Ontology and Epistemology of the Social”, which will take place from August 5th to August 10th at the National University of San Marcos (Lima, Peru), combines introductory workshops in social ontology and social epistemology with research presentations by two keynote speakers: Esa Díaz-León (University of Barcelona) and Gabriel Uzquiano (University of Southern California).
Attendance is free and every session will be held in Spanish. In addition, we have awarded 8 scholarships to Peruvian philosophy students that will cover their transportation and accommodation costs. For more information about the event, please send an email to filosocialperu@gmail.com.
This event is organized by the UNMSM Graduate School and Theorema – Peruvian Society of Philosophical Research thanks to the financial support of the International Social Ontology Society (ISO). More information about ISOS can be found in their website www.isosonline.org.
